I’m Wil Bos, I was born in Veldhoven (Netherlands) on the 19th of August.
At the moment I am living in Eindhoven with my wife Audrey.
Music and dancing were always a big part throughout my life. When I was thirteen years old, I played in a band and did this for a further fifteen years.
Apart from music, motocross was also a big part in my life, until I was then introduced to line-dancing.
My ex- sister in law (Karin) introduced me to line-dancing, which I quickly became addicted and passionate for. Due to the lack of time, unfortunately I had to give up motocross.
Under certain circumstances my ex- sister in law had to move away, which meant that Audrey and I took on her line-dancing association. This was totally unexpected.
I became a line-dance instructor very soon after beginning line-dancing.
The name ‘Route 66 country line dancers’ didn’t really fit our club anymore, so it was renamed ‘DouBleYouB Linedancers’, what doesn’t mean anything else than the first letters of my name and surname WB. This has now answered the riddle for many people.
Since everything was going so fast, I wanted to write my own dances as well.
The dance ‘Spirit in the Sky’ by Gareth Gates, was my first dance, and was a success in the area around Eindhoven. From that moment everything was happening very fast- friendships always extending, doing very unexpected things like being invited to the ‘Sunday showcase’ organised by John Grrowler (from England); to teach workshops with the dances I had written, and also to teach the dances I had written along with my dear friend Roy Verdonk. My own dance ‘Hey Mister’ was placed in the ‘Line-dancer magazine’. The eventual rocket on my career was due to my dear friend Roy Verdonk. Our first dance together was ‘Shake up the Party’ which became a huge hit in both the Netherlands and many European countries. In the meantime, Roy and I were in the ‘Line-dancer magazine’ many times.
Now I am the DJ for my own line-dance parties and I get asked to DJ for many other line-dance events, including events from outside the Netherlands.
To see all of the people enjoying the music that I play, gives me an amazing feeling.
I continue to come across challenges in the line-dance world, and without the help of certain people, I wouldn’t be where I am right now.
